adolescent therapy

seeking support is a courageous effort for anyone, but especially for parents. the old adage, "it takes a village," reigns true in this demanding and social media driven world.

together we can…

find balance in the chaos

children ages 10-17 are in the most developmentally rich span of their lives. so much is changing — their bodies, their minds, their schools, their attitudes. at the same time, each of them is expected to be a good student, follow directions, be respectful, and have a social and/or extracurricular life. these expectations can be overwhelming for an adolescent. your child deserves the tools to navigate in a healthy way.

identify the root

do you have an adolescent that is lost in the weeds of stress, depression, and anxiety? maybe you have noticed that their self-esteem has dwindled over time and they can’t seem to find their confidence? have a developmental or academic transition found them facing an impasse? they are not alone. as a parent, you want the best for your child. a cura therapist can help your child figure out what that looks like for them.

design a plan

we support adolescents using individual, family and group counseling in a safe, non-judgmental environment. with all adolescent therapy, a periodic family session is incorporated to bridge the communication gap between parent and child and support you as well. your cura therapist will utilize a variety of creative and experiential approaches in each session to encourage exploration and expression with your child.

our therapists understand that adolescents will not always connect or respond to typical therapeutic language. your cura therapist will be patient, empathetic, and attuned to the modern tech savvy adolescent’s struggles while working to address their needs according to your child’s appropriate developmental perspective.
