ayanna began doing work as a pastoral counselor with her husband. after 15 years, she realized the need for additional training, and began her pursuit for a master’s in marriage and family therapy.

as a second-year student, ayanna has noticed that communication and connection are the source of challenges between couples. one person says they need one thing and the other person says they need another thing and neither have a full understanding of what is supposed to happen.

as a result, couples spend a lot of time arguing and eventually find themselves distant from each other. that is where she has focused a lot of her training - helping couples learn to connect again.
