Matilda Adu, MFT
Matilda completed her undergraduate degree at Georgia State University studying psychology, and completed a Masters degree at Mercer University studying Marriage and Family Therapy in the School of Medicine. She focuses on issues effecting the self worth and internalized perceptions of women ages 18-50 and she works heavily with couples, however, children and families are welcome!
Matilda will be directed and under the supervision of Crystal Gillery LMFT, Dawn Swiney MPA LMFT, and Dr. Carla Smith, LCSW, LMFT while she is working to be fully licensed. Matilda enjoys helping women find their confidence through positive affirmations and narratives of their lives. She also enjoys guiding intimate relationships to the place where the couple feels most comfortable. She is fascinated with using the Narrative approach since the power of altering a negative worldview into a new light is essential. Matilda’s history with rhythmic movement influences the occasional use of dance to uncover underlying emotional sexual experiences for her female clients.
