Ashley Reed, MFT
Ashley has a strong passion for working with individuals experiencing eating disorders. She has particular interest to work with couples, in which one partner is working to reduce symptoms of disordered eating. It was during her work with individuals in outpatient treatment that Ashley realized the major strain and stress of the disorder affected not only the individual, but also their relationships with the ones they love the most.
When battling an eating disorder, it affects your mental health and can unfortunately bring on symptoms of other disorders such as anxiety and/or depression. In her work with individuals, Ashley helps her client’s identify and change underlying negative thoughts that seemingly justify the need for the eating disorder. With couples, Ashley helps both partners explore how the disorder has impacted various aspects of their relationship, including communication, emotional connection, intimacy, support and trust.
